Rosa on the bus
Montgomery City Code stated that buses had to give equal sections for both whites and blacks. Therefore whites would have the front of the bus and the blacks would have the back. When the seats are filled and more white people are coming on the bus, the bus driver would move the sign that spilt the whites from the blacks back so the whites would have more space. Wait, the black section is filled too! Well then the bus driver kicked some of the black people off of the bus. Rosa Parks had the same situation. She was going home from a long day of work in Montgomery and getting closer to home, the bus was getting filled with white people. It got so full that white people started standing in the aisle. When the bus driver noticed the white people were standing, they went and moved the sign back and asked four black people to leave their seats. Three women got up complaining, but Rosa refused and didn't get up. The bus driver says, "Why don't you stand up?" and Rosa replied with, "I don't think I should have to stand up." Then, the bus driver called the cops and the cops arrested Rosa for violation of the Montgomery City Code.
